Piano lessons are taught at the studio in Logan on Wednesday afternoons, or in the teacher’s home in Hyde Park on Monday afternoons. This is something Idena (the piano teacher) did when she was a student and LOVED it! Yes, it can be stressful, but you also get trophies if you do well! -) We are also part of the National Federation of Music Clubs! As a member of this, our students will have the vital opportunity to perform for a panel of judges and get real feedback on their abilities (from someone other than their teacher!). This gives the students more opportunities to show how much they have learned! We have a Christmas Concert in December and a more formal Piano Recital in late April or early May. All students will have two opportunities to play in front of people. Lessons are 30 minutes each week and students will be expected to practice daily at home. These classes are for anyone who can read (usually age 6 and up) and will help your child (or YOU) grow in many ways! Students learn basic piano techniques up to late-intermediate difficulty. Some of these are developing and practicing social skills right in the session, impulse control, emotional regulation, enhancement of speech and language development, and much more!Īll classes will be available for participation at home through telehealth so if your child doesn't feel well they won't miss a session! Parents are welcomed but not expected to attend.

Music Therapy is a wonderful practice that has many benefits. Group goals will be made based on the needs of each individual and as a group as a whole! The group will address all 5 domains of development through various music therapy techniques, such as active music-making with voice and instruments, moving to the music, and learning musical skills.

This class will begin in January 2021, and each class lasts 45 minutes. We are very pleased to offer a new class at our studio! This one is a Music Therapy Group Class specifically geared toward children with developmental disabilities and will be led by a Board Certified Music Therapist, Heather Overly.
